There is a short clip of an American divorce lawyer that I adore. He spends his days with very rich clients, in court, his phone always close to his hand. Someone asks him what kind of woman he wants by his side, and his answer is one of the most romantic things I have heard from a powerful man.
He loves strong, brilliant women. And what he dreams of, at the end of a long morning in court, is to call the woman he loves and hear that she is relaxed, curled up with a book, and going to have her nails done later. Then he says the line that stayed with me: "she gets to do that, cause I'm doing this."
A beautiful circle
His work makes her joy possible, and her joy gives his work its meaning. Every hour he gives to his clients becomes a slow afternoon for her, a fresh manicure, a smile when he walks through the door. That is not a small thing. For a man who builds all day, seeing her bloom is the proof that it is all worth it.
What I do with that
I meet men like him all the time. Generous, brilliant, busy men who carry a lot and do it beautifully. When they come to me, I want them to find exactly what that lawyer was describing: a woman who is rested, glowing and happy to see them.
So I prepare for you. I see only one guest a day. By the time we meet, I have slept well, I have taken care of my skin, my hair, my nails, my lingerie, and my mind is free. I am entirely there for you. We take our time: we talk, we flirt, we let the evening build. And afterwards I stay close, we talk some more, and I take care of you.
